Of course, not everyone is crazy about the idea of a chain opening up a location in the area, which has something of a reputation for being a haven for offbeat and quirky shops and restaurants. One shopper told a reporter she didn't like the idea of the area becoming more homogenous, or getting so expensive that only corporations could afford the rent.
The impact, if any, The Fresh Market makes on the north side of downtown Orlando remains to be seen, but we certainly hope the company thought long and hard as to whether this was the best location for its new site. Choosing commercial real estate is a process that is best not rushed.
