Hungry Howie's mourns the loss of founder Jim Hearn

Residents in Orlando know the name Hungry Howie's quite well. But a name some might not be as familiar with is Jim Hearn who purchased the then hamburger concept in 1973, growing it into the nation's 11th largest pizza company. With more than 200 locations in Florida alone, the company has definitely made a name for itself and for its founder.

Could Florida push for laws requiring paid sick leave?

With the worst of the flu season pretty much over with, many Florida residents have been watching the news closely as cities and states across the nation have been tackling the difficult issue of offering compensation during sick leave. And although some businesses here in the state offer paid time off for sick days, it's worth noting that we do not yet have a law that requires companies to do so.

In our last post, we wrote about how the city of Orlando's purchase of some real estate in the Parramore neighborhood had stoked rumors that the city was going to get a new soccer stadium and a new Major League Soccer team.
